Introduction about Paleo / LCHF Lifestyle

About Me

I am Nirmal, Author of Paleo LCHF blogs and Practitioner for almost 3 years, Back in my teens, I was really fit and athletic. When I shifted to a desk job I developed a sedentary lifestyle and gained rapid fat. From the humble 60 Kilograms, I reach whopping 125 plus kilos of body weight over the course of 13 years. With these simple lifestyle hacks and correcting the way, we eat our food like our ancestors I started gaining back what I lost for 13 years in my life.
I am here to share the experiences and knowledge I gained in my practice which might help others to gain back what was lost.

** Please do not make dietary choices if you have any underlying health conditions. Do consult a doctor and monitor your blood work Look for LDL, HDL , try-glycerides, Cardiac Markers, renal and Kidney functions, and Liver functions at least twice a year to ensure the parameters are right before start making any lifestyle changes.

The Origin

Since the Inception of every living organism on planet earth, the dietary needs have evolved for each living organism for millions of years. Any drastic change in the evolutionary diet will come with its own side effects. Humans have a gut and dietary practices that evolved from our ancestors at least 2 million years ago. What our food ancestors followed a million years ago should be our food, isn't it?

It's Hunting, gathering, and Foraging food. What are the sources? No Rice, No legumes, No Cereals, The fruits have not been genetically modified the cereals and legumes were not fit for human conception back then. Now we started consuming all this about a few hundred years ago. Our Gut and bodily systems don't evolve as fast as our diets do. We eat Pizzas, Burgers, pasta, Ramen, Bread, and roti out of cultural evolution not based on bodily evolutions. The ingredients for all the above said food items we consume today are heavily modified for large-scale industrial production, genetically altered for several hundred years

Evolution doesn't happen over a night
We, humans, evolved from human-like species Namely Homosapiens, Denisovans over 2 million years ago we still have those traits in Human anatomy like the muscles on our Paw, Appendix, or Tail Bone which came from a subspecies from where human ancestors evolved from several million years ago. Considering this theory practice of agriculture was practiced by humans approximately 3500 to 7000 years ago since then grains, Legumes and Pulses have evolved, and cross-bred to fit local conditions.
The catch here is agriculture has rapidly evolved but the bodily systems to process these foods still remain the same as our ancestors. When these food made of grains, Legumes, Pulses, and Highly processed refined food go inside our gut it get confused about how to deal with all these easily breakable, Highly starchy, Sugary, Carb rich, Low in Protein and Fats, Artificially Engineered Fats. This triggers several hormonal responses, and inflammation even triggers Cancer Cells. That's alarming isn't it?

LCHF Lifestyle in a nutshell

LCHF- Low Carb, High Fat, Medium Proteins is the macro proposition I was experimenting with in my food habits.  Combined with Walking 10000 steps a day I managed to reduce 30 Kilograms in the course of 3 to 4 months. Unbelievable isn't it?

The three macros consumed by Humans are Proteins, fats, and Carbohydrates. It's Categorized as Essential and Non Essential macros. Guess which among the three is unessential macro, is it fat?

No way, the hell with the dogma that fat is unhealthy. Our forefathers used Animal fat to cook their food before the invention of Canola oil, Sunflowers Oil, margarine, or any such chemical fats you consume is not fat at all.

These are just sub-products of the Oil /chemical/Pharmaceutical industry which is dumped into our food with crony marketing campaigns for a few decades and in these few decades rise in obesity and Heart diseases increased rapidly as well.

The Essential Macros Proteins and Fats do they have enough quantities for your body weight in a conventional restaurant Menu in India the answer is NO. Our Body doesn't know if you are a vegetarian, Vegan , or Eggetarian or a carnivorous diet follower. It is just going to break your food down to this nutrition only.

In the Next article, lets take a deeper view of the macros required for Humans
